iSNR presents the Workshop of the Carbon Negative Resources
iSNR hosted the Workshop of the Carbon Negative Resources on December 8th, 2023, at the Sciencce Conference Hall of the College of Science. The opening and welcome speech was delivered by Vice President and Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Yin-Tzer Shih. The workshop brought together professors and experts to facilitate academic and knowledge exchange across various fields. Through lectures in the morning session and academic poster presentations in the afternoon, attendees shared research results, promoting the core mission of iSNR to enhance net-zero technology through innovative approaches, progressively working towards achieving the campus carbon neutrality goal by 2040.
The workshop commenced with a keynote addressed by Professor Alexandre Brolo, Chair of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Victoria in Canada, who discussed "Characterization of Carbon Materials Using Raman Spectroscopy." The morning session concluded with various lectures from iSNR members, including “Optimum Operation Condition of Fluidized Bed Homogeneous Crystallization Technology for the Storage of Carbon Dioxide Captured in Flue Gas”, “Navigating a Visible-driven Photocatalyst for Efficient Green Hydrogen Generation”, “Degradable poly(carbonate imine) vitrimers and epoxy thermosets based on waste polycarbonate-derived aromatic amine” and “A Study of Estimation of Solar PV Soiling Loss for Construction of Green Electric Power Platform.”
In the afternoon, various experts continued with lectures and academic poster presentations, with each poster accompanied by a graduate student to explain the research results to the attendees, fostering vibrant discussions and cross-disciplinary learning opportunities. The workshop exemplified NCHU's interdisciplinary research capabilities and diverse achievements. Moving forward, iSNR will continue organize lectures and related activities to enhance capabilities across all sectors, laying a solid foundation for reaching its goals.
