2024 International Symposium on Carbon-Negative Futures Concludes Successfully
The "2024 International Symposium on Carbon-Negative Futures" (ISCF), organized by the Innovative Center on Sustainable Negative-Carbon Resources (iSNR) at National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) and co-hosted by the College of Science, was held successfully from November 5 to 7, 2024, at the International Conference Hall of the College of Science. This in-person symposium was conducted entirely in English, with 17 scholars from Canada, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan delivering presentations, alongside 32 poster presentations. The event focused on three major themes: carbon-negative strategies, energy and environmental materials, and nature-based solutions for sustainable development. In-depth discussions covered the practices and developments of a carbon-negative future, attracting many faculty members and students to engage in the latest research findings and practical case studies.
Professor Kuan-Jiuh Lin, Director of the iSNR at NCHU, extended a warm welcome to the scholars and distinguished guests during the opening ceremony. He expressed hope that the 2024 ISCF would serve as a starting point for fostering international academic collaborations, promoting knowledge exchange and cooperation in carbon-negative technologies and sustainable development, and facilitating future research and development.
