Professor Kuan-Jiuh Lin, director of iSNR, was invited to speak at the "2024 Carbon Academy" hosted by BNext Media at the Nangang Exhibition Center on October 5, 2024. In his talk, he provided an academic perspective on how to popularize the concept of carbon neutrality in businesses and society, and promote the practice of net-zero emissions. This inaugural Carbon Classroom, part of 2024 Energy Taiwan & Net-Zero Taiwan, attracted over 210 industry professionals and attendees, reflecting high societal interest and support for net-zero issues.

In his presentation "Corporate Net-Zero Governance: Green Progress in Industry," Professor Lin conducted a professional analysis of Voluntary Carbon Credits (VCC). He emphasized that for companies to promote net-zero governance, they must first understand the difference between carbon management and carbon governance. Carbon management involves controlling carbon emissions in daily operations, while carbon governance encompasses comprehensive carbon reduction strategies within policy, regulations, and social responsibility frameworks. He noted that companies could address challenges related to time, talent, and credibility through certification bodies, ensuring they can advance steadily on the path to net zero.

Additionally, Professor Lin shared iSNR's efforts in developing voluntary carbon credits and introduced the mission and origins of iSNR. He hoped that promoting a "Resilient Ecosystem" would garner greater societal attention and response, ultimately facilitating a green transformation across society.

This Carbon Academy served as a feast of knowledge and presented a significant opportunity for businesses and society to confront the challenges of climate change together. Professor Lin's insights and those of other experts provided attendees with practical guidance, enabling companies to pursue economic benefits while actively participating in the global green transformation movement. iSNR looks forward to more exchange platforms like this, allowing more businesses and individuals to join on the net-zero path and collaboratively build a more sustainable future.
