To advance the carbon-neutral sandbox verification field proposed by iSNR, establish a demonstration system for green hydrogen production, and deepen the application of negative carbon research, Professor Kuan-Jiuh Lin, Director of iSNR, and Dean of the College of Science, Chia-Chien Huang, led a five-member delegation on a five-day visit to Kyushu University in Japan from December 16 to 20, 2024. During the visit, they engaged in in-depth discussions and experience-sharing with members of several research institutes at Kyushu University, including the International Institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), the Research Center for Negative Emissions Technologies (K-NETs), the Platform of Inter-/Transdisciplinary Energy Research (Q-PIT), the International Research Center for Hydrogen Energy, and the Research Center for Hydrogen Industrial Use and Storage (HYDROGENIUS). The visit focused on introducing and applying hydrogen energy technology, offering insights into its critical role and potential applications in future clean energy systems. Kyushu University has been researching hydrogen energy for over 20 years and is a global leader in low-carbon hydrogen technology. Its research covers hydrogen energy production, storage, transportation, and application cycles. This visit is expected to lay an essential foundation for promoting hydrogen energy technology and achieving a low-carbon campus at National Chung Hsing University. The visit also facilitated international collaboration in technological achievements, explored future cooperation opportunities, and strengthened bilateral academic, educational, and research partnerships.
